The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) represents members in the United States, Canada, and more than 50 other countries who serve children with disabilities and/or those with gifts and talents. The CEC Annual Convention & Expo is the premier special education meeting in the world, providing special educators with the opportunity to learn about the latest research, emerging knowledge, products and services, and brings them together to meet and network with colleagues from around the world. CEC extends a special welcome to our international attendees and exhibitors and hopes delegates to have a rich and rewarding CEC 2017 Convention & Expo experience.

The Visa Waiver Program (VWP) enables most citizens or nationals of participating countries to travel to the United States for tourism or business (visitor [B] visa purposes only) for stays of 90 days or less without obtaining a visa.*Travelers from VWP countries must meet eligibility requirements to travel without a visa, as authorized through the Electronic System for Travel Authorization  (ESTA).

Letters of Invitation

To request a letter of invitation to attend the Convention & Expo, please email Renee Glasby of our Conventions Team at [email protected] and include the following information in your message:

  • Full Legal Name (as it appears on your passport)
  • Company, Business, or Other Affiliation (if applicable)
  • Complete Mailing Address
  • Specify electronic, hard copy, or both formats

Please be advised, CEC cannot assist you with the interview process. No one representing CEC can contact an embassy or consulate on your behalf to provide support for granting a visa. You, the visa applicant, are expected to:

  • Plan your travel and visa application as far in advance as possible.*
  • Complete your application fully and accurately.*
  • Be forthcoming about your purpose and plans.*
  • Prepare for your interview by being able to clearly and concisely describe your intentions.*
